Learning to Communicate

I’m always looking for new audio books and podcasts to keep me inspired on the commute around the Bay area. On one of my favorite podcasts in the last couple weeks (The Limit Does Not Exist) I heard about a new book on communication by Alan Alda. I’ve been a huge fan of his since first realizing how awesome M*A*S*H in my twenties, and have always loved the projects he’s involved with.

His book “If I Understood You, Would I Have This Look on My Face?” is about the ways we communicate with each, or rather how we most often miscommunicate, and the science of Why.

Audio books are much easier for me to consume these days, and in this case the author is the narrator, which makes it super enjoyable. Alan has one of those voices that lend itself to a sort of relaxation in the listener, making the content much easier to get into.

So many of the concepts he presents in this book are straight forward, yet presented in ways that make you evaluate how you engage with others on a daily basis… from personal to business.

I’d love to hear what you think of the book, so don’t be shy about leaving comments below.
