101 North Brewing has been around, supplying liquid awesome to locals and distribution networks alike, yet they’ve teased us with the idea of a taproom. Well wait no longer my friends… As of this past week, their taproom is open for business!
Stopped by this past rainy Sunday, and were greeted by friendly staff enjoying a brief lul between mid-day and evening rushes. The lighting was perfect for a quick photo shoot, which we took advantage of! Reclaimed wood, aged wallpaper, and custom crown molding are tributes to the family’s grandmother and her property nearby. All of the details make you feel at home, and wanting for another pint with the other patrons.
From amongst a stellar tap selection, I went with the Mojo Choco Milk Stout with coffee, based on a collaboration between the 101 North team and a local home brewing group, after winning last years Sonoma County Homebrew Competition. Bold chocolate and coffee aromas played with a solid body, and my only regret was not having some vanilla ice cream with it. My wife had their Golden Naked, their take on a traditional Golden Ale.
Next time you’re in Petaluma, and feel like something different, swing by 101 North Brewing. You won’t be disappointed. Cheers!
