Slightly sweet esters on the nose; almost a grassy aroma as well. Smooth, tastes a bit of Strawberry & Grape. Finish lingers on the back of your tongue for a moment, but not bad. Ever since meeting Chad Yakobson (Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project), I’ve been interested in how Brettanomyces can affect a beers’ flavor, outside of the sour ones we see on the market. This collaboration between New Belgium and The Lost Abbey is an example of just that… subtle nuance’s of funk & flavor that don’t necessarily equate to a soured beer.
