Last night my friend Jake Wiskerchen brewed his first batch of beer. He’d attended numerous @hebrewbrewing meeting’s, but hadn’t had an opportunity to actually go through the motions on his own. So, he picked up a Nut Brown kit from Nothern Brewer (extract), and we kicked it off around 5:30pm last night. After some initial cleaning of pots & fermenting buckets, the brewing was underway.
Everything went as expected, and the cooling was quick. In the end, with a chilled wort temp of about 75F, he pitched the yeast, and we set it to fermenting in my office. As of this morning, it’s going strong.
On a side note, he’s already prep’d to order his next batch! Love seeing more people join the homebrewing ranks!
